«How to Become a Public Spea…King!»

The session will enable participants to train public presentation skills and to develop an array of communication strategies, in order to maximise speech efficiency, to improve stage presence and to globally increase the effectiveness of interpersonal communication.

For entrepreneurs, managers, executives and businessmen who wish to discover tools and approaches to improve their public speaking abilities by controlling emotions, coping with stage-stress and ultimately gaining confidence in front of their audiences.

Day 1

We always need to establish contact and to find «chemistry» with our audience:

  • Eye contact
  • Fluid gestural sequences
  • Voice and breathing techniques
  • Hip movement
  • Feet: grounding, moving, walking

13:30 – 14:30

14:30 – 18:30

Participants will be trained to use several technical tools and devices, such as:

  • Microphones of various types
  • Podiums (platform, lectern)
  • Sitting and/or Standing
  • Reading a full speech from paper
  • Speaking with notes/sketches
  • Presenting with Powerpoint

Day 2

Principles and techniques inspired by the presidential staff of the Unites States of America:

  • Strategic planning
  • Memory exercise
  • Focus on relevant points
  • Vocabulary and word choice
  • Numbers and figures

How is the meeting going? Do people believe what we are saying or are they just «pretending» to pay attention? We can understand this from their body language.

Alberto Castelvecchi

Communication Expert and Editor

Renown linguist and philologist, he has been engaged in journalism and dissemination of culture with Radio Rai 2 and Radio Rai 3 since 1987. He has written for Il Messaggero, for the Rome news section of La Repubblica and for Panorama. In 1993 he founded Castelvecchi publishing company, specializing in new trends and youth culture. In 2008 he founded a literary agency, a consultancy firm and another publishing company. Since 2010 he is engaged in research studies and teaching Public Speaking at LUISS Guido Carli University, besides being personal lifestyler and personal communication coach for managers, politicians and enterprises.
